Urgent: Protect Your Pet from Leptospirosis

We have noted an alarming uptick in the amount of Leptospirosis cases we are seeing this winter. If your pet is not yet affected, it is important to take action to protect the health of your pet and your family. To stop the spread of this potentially deadly disease, we are urging all pet owners to vaccinate their pets against Leptospirosis. 

Leptospirosis is an infectious disease that causes permanent irreversible damage to kidneys and liver in both humans and animals. This disease is zoonotic which means it can transfer between humans and animals. This infection spreads through contact with contaminated urine, water, or soil. If your pet goes outside, you and your pet are at risk.

Leptospirosis is not included in the core vaccines so even if your pet is fully vaccinated (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies), they are still at risk.

Don’t wait until symptoms develop as at that point it may be too late. Symptoms include: fever, lethargy, increased thirst, and increased urination.
